Ghosts
Constructed in 1922, the Mounds Theatre hosted silent movies and live entertainment until its closure in 1967 and was used as a warehouse until 2001, when the Portage for Youth secured and renovated the space.
There are rumors of ghosts in the theatre--specifically three resident ghosts, and a number of other visiting spirits who seem to enjoy the shows alongside the audience--leading many psychics and ghost hunters to call the Mounds Theatre one of the most haunted places in the Twin Cities.
Skeptics have their doubts, but the strange photographs persuade many otherwise. To decide for yourself, the Mounds Theatre frequently hosts ghost lectures and tours. Information is available on the Upcoming Shows page and also at Real Haunted Tours.
